Following the death of Erich von Däniken on January 10, 2026, the father of the ancient astronaut theory, things he never would have allowed are slipping into the show.

NOTE: There are some new faces on Ancient Aliens, and a few of them are very good and educationally qualified, but one newbie stands out as totally unqualified …. and outright silly.
The once entertaining circus of Ancient Aliens has finally collapsed into a heap of self-important delusion and performative modern signaling. For years the audience tolerated the eccentricities of Giorgio Tsoukalos because his brand of madness felt earnest even if it was scientifically vacant.
However, the current trajectory of the program suggests a desperate and clunky attempt at a woke makeover that nobody requested.
The introduction of Gray Scott (whoever he is) is the final nail in the coffin for a show that used to be a fun late night distraction.

Scott arrives with the laughable title of “futurist” which is a modern term for someone who possesses no actual skills but enjoys hearing the sound of their own voice. He brings with him a heavy suitcase of political baggage and a visible case of Trump Derangement Syndrome on his Instagram page that has no business being anywhere near a discussion about megalithic structures. It is a special kind of arrogance to think that a show about extraterrestrial contact needs to be filtered through the lens of modern social justice or political grievance.
There were no transgay fashion trans-aliens building the pyramids and the attempt to inject this weird woke energy into the narrative is both transparent and pathetic.
Gray Scott is the perfect embodiment of why Ancient Aliens has traded its soul for a hollow, tech-fetishized makeover. He carries the title of “futurist” and “techno-philosopher” like a badge of unearned authority while contributing nothing but high-concept word salad that sounds impressive only to those who have never read a science book.
His “silliness” is rooted in a specific brand of Silicon Valley arrogance where every mystery of the human past must be filtered through a digital lens. Here is a deeper look at the specific brands of nonsense he is injecting into the show:

1. The “Simulation” Cop-Out
Scott’s primary contribution to the discourse is the tired, unoriginal claim that we are living in a computer simulation. He frequently poses “mind-blowing” questions like, “Maybe the simulators forgot to add the aliens to the outer space algorithm?” This is not research; it is a lazy philosophical safety net. By suggesting that our reality is just “bytes of code,” he effectively dismisses the need for actual archaeological or historical evidence. If the Nazca lines don’t make sense, he can simply suggest it was a “glitch in the substrate.” It is the ultimate intellectual shortcut for a man who lacks the discipline for real study.
2. The “Digital Hive Mind” Fantasy
He spends an inordinate amount of time talking about “digitizing consciousness” and the “age of the digital hive mind.” He envisions a future where humans wirelessly merge their minds, which he describes as “the web in its present state.” To suggest that the toxic, polarized mess of the modern internet is the “beginning of a digital hive mind” is a staggering display of tone-deafness. He treats the loss of individual privacy and the rise of machine-governed ethics as an exciting evolution rather than a dystopian nightmare.
3. The “Humans from the Future” Hijack
Scott has championed the “extratempestrial” theory—the idea that the “Greys” are actually us coming back from the future to “sample the archive” of our DNA. While this theory has been explored by actual scientists like Dr. Michael Masters, Scott flavors it with a “Solarpunk” optimism that feels utterly disconnected from the grit of human history. He talks about “LED underground pinkfarms” and “sexbots” in the same breath as ancient megaliths. He is trying to turn a show about our ancestors into a commercial for a transhumanist future that looks like a bad neon-lit fever dream.
4. The “Pseudo-Intellectual” Scaffolding
His language is designed to sound “advanced” while remaining entirely content-free. He uses phrases like “biological function of the human being is the creative act of free will” or “new psychological scaffolding” to mask the fact that he is essentially just a corporate keynote speaker who wandered onto a History Channel set. He is a “thought leader” for people who don’t want to think.
When you pair this vapid futurism with guests who can’t even pronounce “Hippocrates,” the result is a show that has completely abandoned its original premise. Gray Scott represents the “new guard” of Ancient Aliens—men who are more interested in their own “futuristic now” podcasts and Twitter filters than they are in the actual, physical mysteries of the past. He is the guy who looks at a 5,000-year-old stone temple and thinks, “This would be a great place for a server farm.”

The looming departure of Nick Pope marks the end of any remaining credibility for a program that has long been adrift in a sea of speculation. As the only contributor with a background in the UK Ministry of Defense his presence offered a necessary anchor of professional gravitas and actual experience with government investigations into the unexplained. His terminal illness is a tragedy that extends beyond his personal health because it signals the final extinguishing of the show intellectual light. Without his measured and authoritative voice the series is left entirely in the hands of the self-styled futurists and the men who cannot pronounce the names of the ancient Greeks. Once the only person with a legitimate security clearance exits the stage the production will be nothing more than a hollowed out vessel for the politically deranged and the historically illiterate.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FUTURIST, GIORGIO.
The intellectual rot does not stop with the new hires. The vetting process for guests has clearly been abandoned in favor of anyone with a YouTube following and a pulse. When Praveen Mohan appeared on the screen and butchered the name of Hippocrates by calling him hippo-cratis the show officially sank below the intellectual bar set by Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. It is a staggering display of ignorance for a supposed researcher to be unable to pronounce the name of the father of medicine. If the producers cannot be bothered to check the basic literacy of their experts then the entire production deserves the ridicule it is currently inviting.
Giorgio Tsoukalos himself has become a curated shadow of his former self. His decision to filter his social media comments so that only his chosen circle can participate in the conversation is the ultimate act of cowardice. He is terrified of the very audience that made him a household name because he knows the show is being ruined by this pivot toward nonsense. The fans who have stuck by the series for over a decade are being insulted by a production team that thinks they are too stupid to notice the shift in tone. Ancient Aliens used to be a place where we could wonder about the stars but now it has become a platform for vapid futurists and illiterate historians to push a sanitized and politically correct version of the unknown. It is time to turn off the television and leave these people to their own shrinking echo chambers.

BIBLE VERSE:
Answer not a fool according to his folly lest thou also be like unto him. Proverbs 26:4
WHY I CHOSE THIS VERSE:
This verse serves as a profound warning against engaging with those who have abandoned reason or truth in favor of their own delusions. It suggests that by stooping to the level of an ignorant or dishonest person one risks losing their own standing and becoming indistinguishable from the very source of the nonsense. It is a call to maintain personal standards of intelligence and integrity rather than being dragged into a pointless cycle of vanity and false claims.
A Brief Prayer
May we find the clarity to distinguish between true wonder and the shallow imitations of men who seek only their own glory. Grant us the patience to endure the noise of the world and the wisdom to protect our minds from the influence of the foolish. Let us always value the truth over the convenient or the popular and find peace in the pursuit of genuine knowledge. Amen.
