An Open Letter to the Board of Disney and the Cowards at ABC: To “Be Best” Means Giving Kimmel the Boot

By: Daiman Teer for The Simpleton Star

To the suits in Burbank and the programming executives who have allowed the 11:30 p.m. hour to become a nightly exercise in psychological pollution:

The time for corporate hand-wringing and demographic hedging is over. You are no longer presiding over a talk show; you are subsidizing a national crisis. Jimmy Kimmel is not a comedian, and he is certainly not an asset. He is a dangerous, shivering mass of insecurity who has weaponized the public airwaves to wage a personal vendetta against half of the American population.

When First Lady Melania Trump stood before the world and championed the “Be Best” initiative, she was speaking to the soul of a nation that was tired of being bullied, tired of online vitriol, and tired of the casual cruelty that has become the hallmark of the modern era. By continuing to broadcast Kimmel’s nightly spasms of hatred, you are actively spitting in the face of that message. To “Be Best” requires a level of character and dignity that Jimmy Kimmel hasn’t possessed since he was selling beer to frat boys on basic cable.

You have a duty – not just to your shareholders, but to 200 million Americans who are tired of being told they are “garbage” by a man who cries on cue for a teleprompter. Kimmel has moved beyond the realm of “partisan hackery” and into the territory of a genuine threat to the civic peace. His rhetoric is not designed to entertain; it is designed to inflame. He is the primary architect of a new, vicious era of television where the goal is no longer to make the viewer laugh, but to make them loathe their neighbor.

How much longer will you allow this man to use your platform as a megaphone for his specific brand of venom? He is a “The Man Show” relic trying to wear the robes of a moral philosopher, and the seams are bursting. Every night he remains on the air is a night that ABC admits it values the cheap, curdled applause of the Hollywood echo chamber over the stability and sanity of the United States.

There is no “middle ground” left. There is no suspension long enough to cleanse the stench of his recent outbursts. He needs to be fired, but not with a golden parachute or a “sabbatical,” but with the permanent finality that his behavior has earned. He should be blackballed from every corner of this industry until the name “Jimmy Kimmel” is nothing more than a footnote in a textbook about the decline and fall of American broadcasting.

You have the opportunity to show that you are capable of the “Be Best” standard. You have the chance to choose decency over derision. Fire him today, or accept your role as the willing accomplices in the poisoning of the American mind.

The Scriptural Reflection

The Verse:

“A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.” — Proverbs 18:7

The Reason: This verse serves as a direct warning about the consequences of unchecked, malicious speech. It illustrates that Kimmel’s own words have become the trap that will ultimately end his relevance. His “mouth” is no longer an instrument of his trade; it is the engine of his own professional and moral “destruction.”

The Prayer

Heavenly Father, we ask for the strength to stand against the tide of bitterness that seeks to wash over our homes through the flicker of the screen. We pray for the executives who hold the power of decision, that they might be struck with a sudden and overwhelming sense of responsibility to the truth. Remove the scales from their eyes so they may see the damage being done by the tongues of the arrogant. Let us restore a spirit of kindness to our public squares and grant us a reprieve from those who profit from our division. Amen.
