CASSIDY FUCKED AROUND WITH TRUMP AND FOUND OUT
By: Daiman Teer for The Simpleton Star
The political graveyard is filled with the careers of people who thought they were smarter than the people who put them in office. On Saturday, Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy officially booked his ticket to that graveyard, securing a third-place finish in the Republican primary. In doing so, he became a textbook definition of a political idiot who bit the hand that was feeding him.
For years, Cassidy coasted on the good graces of the conservative base in Louisiana. But the moment he decided to cross the line and vote to convict Donald Trump during the 2021 impeachment trial, he signed his own political death warrant. Louisiana voters didn’t forget. They didn’t forgive. And this weekend, they sent a loud, undeniable message: don’t fuck with our man Trump.
The Foolish Act of Political Suicide
What makes Cassidy’s defeat look so spectacularly dumb is the desperate, pathetic way he tried to play both sides. Over the last year, Cassidy tried to put on a mask. He pretended to be the principled, anti-Trump savior of the GOP, trying to rally a phantom base of moderates that simply doesn’t exist in deep-red Louisiana. But when the heat got turned up, he tried to pivot back, desperately voting for Trump’s cabinet picks like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. just to win back some favor.

It didn’t work. By faking his principles and talking out of both sides of his mouth, he came out looking even dumber than Chris Christie. At least Christie was loud about his betrayals. Cassidy tried to slide by on slick talk and $22 million in donor money, only to get absolutely clobbered by Trump-backed Representative Julia Letlow and John Fleming. It takes a special kind of moron to spend that much cash just to come in third place behind people who actually respect the voters.
BIBLE VERSE
“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.” — Proverbs 16:18
The reason this verse fits Bill Cassidy so perfectly is that he genuinely believed he was untouchable. He looked down on the very people who elected him, thinking his elite status as a two-term senator meant he could betray the movement and suffer no consequences. His haughty spirit convinced him that he could fake his way through a primary, but his pride led directly to his utter destruction at the ballot box. Cassidy forgot who put him in Washington, and he forgot that loyalty matters to the people of Louisiana. In his arrogance, he thought he could outsmart the base. The Bible warns us exactly about this kind of pride and deceitful behavior.

A Prayer for Real Leadership
As Louisiana moves forward into a runoff without this faker, let us offer a prayer for the future of the state and the nation.
A Prayer for the Faithful
Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You for granting wisdom and discernment to the voters of Louisiana, who stood up for truth, loyalty, and justice at the ballot box. We pray that You clear out the fakers, the deceivers, and the politicians who serve only themselves while biting the hands of the people who trust them.
Lord, grant us leaders with true integrity—leaders who do not play double games or turn their backs on the movement that brought them to power. Bless our leaders who stand firmly with Donald Trump and the America First movement. Protect our nation from the arrogance of the elite, and guide us toward a future built on loyalty and strength.
In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.
