CNN’s Absurd Assault on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool: The Sick Media Pathology of Wanting a Shithole

By Daiman Teer for The Simpleton Star

Let us analyze a very specific, deeply unhinged psychological pathology that operates within the corridors of modern corporate media. A standard human being, regardless of their political alignment, possesses a baseline capacity for national pride.

When a capital city is cleaned up, when crumbling, leaking infrastructure is repaired, and when an iconic national landmark like the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is finally restored to hold clean, beautiful water for the world to see, a normal person looks at it and says, “Good. It’s about time.”

But the modern media activist is not a normal person. They are a deeply broken, ideologically possessed creature.

The recent coverage surrounding the newly completed, $14 million restoration of the Reflecting Pool is a perfect, textbook case study in this sickness. For years, the capital city was allowed to rot into a neglected, dingy embarrassment. Now, a massive, swift beautification effort has sealed the leaks and coated the basin in a crisp finish ahead of America’s 250th anniversary.

Yet, within twenty-four hours of the water being turned on, outlets like CNN rushed to the scene with cameras zoomed in on the bottom, triumphantly screaming about “residual algae.” They took a standard, mundane engineering reality—dormant pipes releasing a microscopic amount of initial buildup during a routine water startup—and tried to weaponize it to make a national triumph look like a failure.

To understand what kind of low-life derives joy from doing this, we have to tear down their psychology to its absolute, miserable foundation.

These media operatives suffer from a chronic psychological condition known as malignant contrarianism. They are entirely incapable of building anything of value themselves, so their entire sense of identity is derived from throwing rocks at those who do.

This manifests first as a form of weaponized cynicism. They possess a mindset so toxic that they are literally rooting for the water in their own nation’s capital to look filthy, just so they can score a cheap, political point against the builder. Think about the utter misery required to stand at the edge of a magnificent, historic monument, look past the reflection of the Washington Monument, and gleefully search for a speck of sludge on the floor just to run home and write a hit piece.

This feeds directly into the sickness of national self-loathing. These people genuinely despise the idea of a great, beautiful, pristine America. To them, a clean, magnificent Washington, D.C., represents an ideology they hate. They preferred it when the city was a neglected mess because a broken capital mirrors their own broken internal state. When they see excellence, beauty, and order being restored, it offends their very nature.

WHAT THE MISFITS ACTUALLY WANTED —

Finally, we see the pedantry of the small-minded. Finding a technical phrase like “residual algae” and blowing it up into a national headline is the ultimate defense mechanism of the talentless. They use pseudointellectual jargon to mask what is nothing more than petty, playground jealousy. They are small people who live in a permanent state of resentment toward anyone capable of executing a grand vision.

When a society allows its public square to be dominated by people who actively worship ugliness and manufacture division, it has lost its cultural anchor. This is exactly why we must lean on timeless wisdom to separate ourselves from their manufactured chaos.

The people running these media loops are intellectual cowards wearing expensive suits. They stand on the edges of achievements they could never conceptualize, let alone build, waiting like vultures for a drop of water to look out of place so they can feed.

They are sick, they are desperate, and they are entirely irrelevant. The pool is filled, the water is reflecting, the capital is being restored, and no amount of pathetic, microscopic whining from the sidelines can change the reality of a country reclaiming its grandeur.

Let them rot in their own bitterness while the rest of the world enjoys the view

BIBLE VERSE

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Timothy 1:7

WHY I CHOSE THIS VERSE

The media machine relies entirely on breaking your sound mind. They want you living in a state of perpetual irritation, hyper-vigilance, and disgust. This verse reminds us that clarity and peace are our divine inheritance. A sound mind is a weapon; it allows you to look directly at a sensationalized, petty headline, see through the cheap parlor trick instantly, and completely refuse to let these miserable saboteurs disrupt your spirit.

LET US PRAY:

Heavenly Father, deliver our nation from the tongues of those who take joy in destruction and mock what is good, clean, and beautiful. Blind the eyes of the professional cynics who look at our national heritage and see nothing but an opportunity to spread bitterness and division. Guard our minds against their manufactured chaos, and grant us the wisdom to see their smallness for what it is. Keep our spirits anchored in Your truth, our minds sound, and our hearts proud of what is righteous, steady, and orderly. Let the traps they set for public peace be their own undoing. Amen.
