There is a point where political theater crosses the line into high treason, and Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut didn’t just cross that line this week—he danced on it. When reports surfaced that twenty-six Iranian “shadow fleet” vessels had allegedly slipped past a U.S. naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz, the response from a sitting member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee was a single, chilling word: “Awesome.”
For that alone, I am calling for his immediate resignation and arrest. He is a traitor to the USA and he should go the route of all traitors. This wasn’t a misstep or a bad joke or sarcasm, it was blatant treason and sedition. He must be forcibly removed from office. He is a danger to the USA in his current position. Perhaps he is mentally sick. It doesn’t matter. Murphy has got to go!
Murphy later attempted to retreat behind the coward’s shield of “sarcasm,” claiming (shamelessly lying) that he was merely mocking the current administration’s foreign policy. But in the world of high-stakes global security, there is no such thing as an “ironic” cheer for a terrorist-sponsoring regime. When you root for the “shadow fleet” of a nation that chants “Death to America,” you aren’t being a satirist. You are being a mouthpiece. You are doing what spies and moles do in the dark

A PATTERN OF PERFIDY
This isn’t an isolated gaffe. Chris Murphy has a long, documented history of acting as Tehran’s most reliable advocate in Washington.
From his back-channel meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to his relentless efforts to defund American maritime operations, Murphy’s legislative record reads like a wishlist for the Ayatollahs.
He has consistently prioritized the comfort of “islamofascist” regimes over the safety of American sailors. This latest “awesome” slip-up isn’t a mistake; it is a “tell.” It is the reflexive reaction of a man who has spent so long aligning himself with our adversaries that he can no longer hide his delight when he thinks they have gained the upper hand.
The Liability in Our Midst
We must call this what it is: a national security crisis. Chris Murphy holds a high-level security clearance. He sits in closed-door briefings where the most sensitive movements of our Navy are discussed. If he finds the prospect of our blockades failing “awesome,” then he is more than just a bad Senator—he is a liability.
It is time for the FBI and the CIA to stop looking at overseas cells and start looking at the halls of the Senate. A man with this level of ideological capture, who demonstrates such a visceral alignment with the interests of Tehran, must be treated as a potential mole. How many “sarcastic” leaks have occurred? How much of our tactical strategy is being funneled to those who wish us harm?
Chris Murphy has lost the moral and legal standing to represent the people of Connecticut or the United States. He is a rotten traitor to the flag, a cheerleader for our enemies, and a danger to every man and woman wearing a U.S. uniform. He must resign immediately, and he must be watched by the FEDs until we can be sure the damage he has done is contained.

Why I chose this verse:
This verse cuts to the heart of the crisis we face with leaders like Murphy. You cannot claim to serve the American people while harboring a deep, “awesome” devotion to the success of our enemies. Loyalty cannot be divided; when the chips are down, a man’s true master is revealed by what he cheers for in the dark. Murphy has chosen his master, and it isn’t the United States.
A Prayer for the Nation
Heavenly Father, we ask for Your divine protection over our sailors and soldiers who stand in harm’s way in the deep waters. We pray that You would expose the darkness and the double-mindedness in our government. Bring to light every hidden agenda and every heart that has turned against this land. Grant our leaders the spirit of discernment to recognize the wolves in sheep’s clothing and give us the courage to stand for the truth without fear. Strengthen our nation against those who would undermine us from within. Amen.
