Watch a congressional hearing featuring Anthony Fauci and you will witness a masterclass in calculated cowardice. When Democratic lawmakers take their turns at the microphone, they do not ask about the six-foot rule pulled out of thin air, the suppressed lab-leak hypothesis, the funded gain-of-function experiments, or the wreckage left behind by blanket lockdown mandates. Instead, they pivot with practiced agility to safe, comfortable, totally off-topic lectures about measles outbreaks.
It is not an accident, and it certainly is not ignorance. It is an act of pure political self-preservation carried out with absolute contempt for the American public.
To ask Anthony Fauci hard questions would require admitting that the saintly mascot of “The Science” was an administrative bureaucrat who made catastrophic mistakes, misled the nation, and presided over policy disasters. Because the political left elevated Fauci to the status of an untouchable, infallible oracle during the height of the panic, holding him accountable now would collapse their entire moral brand. If the icon was wrong, then everyone who blindly enforced his decrees, closed the schools, destroyed small businesses, and demonized dissenters was wrong too.
So, instead of doing their jobs as elected representatives, they run interference. They run to measles.
Measles is the ultimate political shield. It is a established, universally understood disease with a time-tested vaccine that nobody on Capitol Hill is arguing about. By clogging the hearing record with rehearsed hand-wringing over childhood measles cases, Democratic members perform a neat double-trick. First, they run out the clock so their beloved doctor never has to sweat under oath about COVID-19 origins or administrative overreach. Second, they manufacture a cheap moral high ground, posturing as the noble defenders of public health while acting as human bodyguards for a protected bureaucrat.
They do not care what Fauci has to say because they already know the truth would be politically ruinous. They do not want answers; they want a cover-up dressed in a white coat. The hearing room is transformed from an arena of oversight into a theater of protection, where the public’s right to accountability is sacrificed to keep a grand political illusion alive.

Scripture
“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.” — Luke 12:2
Why This Verse
This scripture was chosen because it strikes directly at the heart of institutional deceit and political theater. No matter how many procedural filibusters, off-topic pivots to measles, or protective partisan maneuvers are executed on live television, human attempts to bury the truth are temporary. The verse stands as a stark reminder that calculated evasion and protected narrative shields eventually crumble before a higher authority of absolute truth.
A Prayer for Truth and Discernment
Lord, grant us the clarity to see through the grandstanding and political theater that routinely replaces honest accountability. Protect our hearts from bitter deception, and give us the discernment to distinguish genuine service from self-serving ambition. Expose that which is hidden in darkness, bring truth into the light, and grant our leaders the humility to seek honesty over the preservation of their own pride. Amen.
