The defining characteristic of true tyranny is not merely the authority to inflict ruin, but the unyielding demand to be shielded from answering for it.
For decades, the public health apparatus of the United States was entrusted to individuals who swore an oath to protect human life. Instead, what the American people received in Anthony Fauci was a modern Victor Frankenstein—a figure possessed by the supreme arrogance of playing creator within a laboratory, indifferent to the monstrous potential of the work being conducted.
To look at the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic is to look at a global tragedy born not of unavoidable nature, but of unchecked human vanity. The evidence surrounding gain-of-function research, the dangerous manipulation of pathogens, and the financial backing directed toward foreign facilities points to a grave, unpardonable recklessness. Millions of citizens perished, economies were systematically dismantled, and the fundamental liberties of a free populace were stripped away under the guise of an emergency. Yet, when confronted with the ultimate accountability owed to a grieving nation, the architect of this era simply chose silence—hiding behind the fifth amendment and technical evasions, steadfastly refusing to explain the origin of the nightmare.
What remains equally abhorrent is the protective ring drawn around him by political partisans and an obedient media. Rather than pursuing the absolute truth of how a devastating pathogen was unleashed upon humanity, defenders in government chose diversion. When granted the opportunity to demand full transparency, they pivoted to peripheral debates over routine childhood illnesses, eager to turn a grave inquiry into a partisan weapon against their political foes.
They do not want the answer because the answer threatens the very structure of their authority. Blinded by tribal allegiance and an all-consuming political hatred, they are content to let the deaths of millions remain a closed chapter—water under the bridge, forgotten for the convenience of the state.
History will not share their willful blindness. Victor Frankenstein eventually had to face the ruin his ambition wrought upon the earth, and no amount of political theater or media protection can alter the verdict on Anthony Fauci. The devastation stands as his permanent legacy, and the refusal to answer for it is his final confession.
